Where Daft Punk got their samples from

Category: Punk

http://www.musicthing.co.uk Here's where the samples on some of my favourite Daft Punk tracks came from. It's all legit, paid in full, above board. Still strange to hear, though. The samples were spotted by http://www.ishkur.com/samples/ and the music was collected by http://palmsout.blogspot.com/2007/02/sample-wednesday-27-daft-punk.html I just did the video editing. http://www.musicthing.co.uk

Looks like logic doesn’t apply U, now I understand why ppl like u leave stupid comments, and like I said b4 Daft punk samples and so does Kanye If they both do the same thing how can one be called a thief and the other a great contributer to there genre? That’s just pure hating if U ask me

Okay did you just say “supa”? I’m going to take you seriously now, and also I don’t want to name a specific date but I’ve been listening to them since One More Time came out, when was that? Ohh 8 years? “Sami did I just read that correctly?” Oh **** you did. Oh and I don’t give a **** how many albums he’s sold, there’s millions of douche bags out in the world, who would buy his albums. It people like you who make me want to punch babies and throw kittens off the roof of an elementary school.

If you listen to the entire songs they actually more different.

I mean what do you expect. We always spread/copy/take/burrow ideas. Instruments, language even the idea of music isn’t specifically theirs.

Plus Daft Punk says what they sampled from.

  6. saintconnor Says:

You need to un-bunch those panties in your *** sami. He was making a comparison between the two artists, not insinuating you said anything about Kanye. Secondly, don’t think you are hot **** because you listed to Daft Punk when “one more time” came out. Try listening to them since their debute album “Homework” back in ‘97. Poser.

M1keF1tzPatr1ck is totally right, with out sampling daft punk would not be what it is not to mention other djs such as girl talk!

  10. coconuts00 Says:

The fact none of you knew their music was samples shows how little you know about music anyway so why are you bothered. People have been sampling other people since the great composers. Sampling is a great re expression, covers on the other hand are rarely more than moneyspinning off other’s backs.

what was the last song bu daft punk on this video

  12. prehistoricfuture Says:

They are obviously good LP diggers. I respect the talent they had as LP diggers. But just like most of the “musicians” in the DJ world, they have very little music talent. Most the “music” they make is just made from the minds of others from the past.

I’m glad this was exposed. A lot of idiots still think that Daft Punk actually played all these sampled grooves themselves. Morons.

This music goes so well with GAP television adverts. Music for shopping

  21. ajohnson929 Says:

i agree. who cares if they use alot of samples. this is electronic music. its all good!

  22. hot1520 Says:

    that’s so gay man…

  23. M1keF1tzPatr1ck Says:

where does it matter where they got their samples. these guys are pioneers and one of the most influential dance music groups in the world. sampling is the cornerstone of all DJing and electronic music. Get a clue. Whether it’s hip-hop (not rap) or any style of dance sampling is a basic element. Why does it matter what is being sampled? It’s about “finding the god-self” (Afrikka Bambaataa) in the particular instrumental break or vocal sample.

  24. 1Miraculum Says:

haha they can’t even produce music… at least they’re good at mixing.

  25. oldone Says:

sampling is the backbone of electronic music so this video shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows what’s up Daftpunk or any other electronic artists.

  26. deadeye916 Says:

Allright, but Daft Punk is allways very nice.
and that all Musicvideos of an album, a solid story build, is an other argument for them genius.

it gives no other who made this.

one persons opinion. I was a daft punk fan and still am, but some of the stuff they “sampled” from is better than their stuff.

  31. windheavenX Says:

LAWLLLLLLLLL in the history of time…music has always been about taking someone elses tunes and making them better….who gives a ****…personally daft punks variations..for the songs they did sample are sueprior..good on them

  32. CliffThe1st Says:

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so technically they have only enhanced the song and shouldn’t really be classified as a proper band??? still they sound cool despite all that. I really think they should give these other guys more credit.

  33. SkinnyPuppy06 Says:

Daft Punk is amazing. I don’t think this video was created to make Daft Punk look bad, but just to show where their samples came from. That’s all :)
Thanks! I knew something sounded familiar.
